Organisation, implementation and documentation of staff training with KiTrainer

The challenge

Until 2018, employee training and instruction at JM took place exclusively in person – with quite a lot of effort, both organisationally and in terms of time for the instructor and the instructed persons, as well as in terms of documentation. It was hardly possible to create and maintain an overview of all trainings via the lists distributed throughout the company. The responsible managers not only lacked a list of all completed trainings, but above all an up-to-date overview of the outstanding courses.

The requirements for the new system for electronic education:

• Implementation, documentation, resubmission of trainings
• Preparation of audits
• Determination of suitable topics for electronic training
• Integration of employees without e-mail access
• Authentication via employee ID card

The solution

After a project duration of only three months, the electronic education system KiTrainer from KISTERS was put into operation at JM. The technical and management staff were trained by KISTERS and in the meantime the employees have completed the first training courses.

The software runs in the JM computing centre. Thus, all confidential data remain within the company. A special challenge solved by KISTERS’ software developers was the authentication via the employee ID cards using RFID. Now it is very easy for all employees: they place their employee ID card on the reader at the training PC and are immediately logged in. They see their personal list of all due trainings and can start and carry out these very easily via the touch display. This simplicity leads to a high acceptance of the system by the eployees and thus ultimately to an improvement in occupational safety.

Individually adjusted to the customer

The trainings for the employees were individually tailored to JM and the respective individual workplaces in advance. This leads to a higher acceptance among the employees and a facilitated adoption.

Improving occupational safety and health

The use of the KiTrainer leads to an overall improvement in occupational health and safety, as it is now easier to organise trainings and keep track of tehm. This makes work easier and saves time for those responsible and for those being instructed.
