Transforming Climate Resilience: KISTERS at Meteorological Technology World Expo 2024

23 July 2024

KISTERS is excited to announce our participation in the Meteorological Technology World Expo 2024, the world’s leading event dedicated to meteorological, hydrometeorological, metocean and environmental monitoring technologies and services. This prestigious event will take place from 24-26 September at the Messe Wien Exhibition & Congress Center in Vienna, Austria. With over 150 exhibitors and thousands of visitors from more than 100 countries, it is the largest exhibition of its kind in the world. Here’s why KISTERS is excited to be part of this landmark event and what we plan to showcase.

Climate change is unquestionably one of the most pressing challenges of our time, affecting every aspect of our lives from the stability of ecosystems to the safety of communities. At KISTERS, we recognise that addressing these challenges requires innovative climate solutions and a collaborative approach. Our participation in the Meteorological Technology World Expo reflects our unwavering commitment to improving climate resilience through advanced environmental monitoring and data-driven decision making.

KISTERS has always been at the forefront of bridging the gap between environmental data collection and actionable insight. Our integrated solutions, from sensing to decision making, enable organizations to make informed decisions that protect assets, enhance safety and promote sustainability. This year, we are excited to showcase our latest advancements in hail and flood monitoring technologies.

“At KISTERS, our R&D efforts are dedicated to pushing the boundaries of environmental monitoring technology. The Meteorological Technology World Expo is the perfect venue for us to share our latest innovations and collaborate with industry leaders. By bringing together cutting-edge science and practical applications, we are committed to providing solutions that enhance climate resilience and empower communities to make informed decisions in the face of environmental challenges.”
– Edgar Wetzel, Head of Research and Development at KISTERS

Showcasing cutting-edge innovations

One of the standout innovations we are showcasing this year is the HailSens IoT sensor and the HailSens360 solution.

The HailSens IoT sensor represents a significant leap in hail monitoring technology, providing real-time, in-situ insights into hail events with unprecedented accuracy. Combined with the HailSens360 software, this system provides comprehensive hail forecasts, nowcasts and post-event analysis. By providing accurate data on hailstone size, velocity and distribution, HailSens360 helps mitigate hail damage, optimise response strategies and protect renewable energy assets such as wind turbines and solar panels.

In addition to hail monitoring, we are proud to present HyQuant, our revolutionary flood management system. HyQuant uses advanced radar technology to measure water level, velocity and discharge, providing a robust solution for flood risk management. Its all-in-one design eliminates the need for multiple sensors, making it a cost-effective and accessible choice for monitoring and protecting communities and infrastructure.

“Participating in the Meteorological Technology World Expo is crucial for advancing our collective understanding of climate resilience. This event provides an unparalleled platform for collaboration, innovation, and the exchange of ideas, all of which are essential in our efforts to mitigate the impacts of a changing climate. At KISTERS, we are proud to contribute to this global dialogue with our state-of-the-art technologies and to work alongside industry leaders to build a more resilient future.”
– Dr. Anton Felder, Director of KISTERS HydroMet

Building a resilient future together

The Meteorological Technology World Expo brings together buyers and users from national meteorological and hydrological services, environmental agencies, research institutes and weather-critical industries such as aviation, maritime, agriculture, transport and renewable energy. It’s a must-attend event for discovering cutting-edge technologies, meeting new suppliers and networking within the industry.

At KISTERS, we believe that building climate resilience requires not only cutting-edge technology, but also strong collaboration between industry leaders, policy makers and communities. Our presence at the Expo underlines our commitment to fostering these partnerships. By showcasing our climate solutions, we aim to demonstrate how advanced environmental monitoring can lead to more resilient and sustainable communities.
